Paul E. Raether ’68

On Thursday, October 27, 12:15-1:15 p.m., distinguished alumnus Paul E. Raether ’68 will address the topic “How My History Major and Broad Liberal Arts Experience at Trinity Prepared Me for Wall Street and for Life” in a conversation with the New York Bureau Chief of Bloomberg News, Jason Kelly. The discussion (with time for questions from students in attendance) takes place in the Washington Room, Mather Hall.

Raether’s College career and life provide compelling examples of the best of the Trinity College mission and the liberal arts tradition. Raether is a member of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), a renowned multinational private investment equity firm in New York City. A Denver native, he graduated from Trinity in 1968 and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. At Trinity, he majored in history, was a member of Psi Upsilon, and participated in many sports, including soccer, baseball, and skiing. He is a former member and chair of Trinity’s Board of Trustees, a highly committed alumnus, and one of Trinity’s most generous donors. He is the recipient of the College’s highest honors, including an honorary doctorate as well as the Eigenbrodt Cup, the Gary McQuaid Award, and the President’s Leadership Medal. Raether and his wife, Wendy, are the parents of three Trinity alumnae: Elissa, Alexa, and Cara.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how this important alumnus created a life of dedication, meaning, and service, in addition to achieving an exceptionally distinguished career in finance. As noted on the attached poster, anyone who’d like to attend should preregister by e-mailing their name to calendar-office@trincoll.edu as there will be limited seating.
